On December 1, 2018, an international seminar of national teachers was held in Conference and Concert hall named after Fikrat Amirov at the downtown campus of Khazar University. Members of Parliament, educators as well as teachers from various regions of Azerbaijan attended the seminar co-organized by “Tehsil” Society and Turkuaz Career Center.
The seminar was moderated by Ilkin Baba, an associate of Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. Aflatun Amashov, Chairman of the Azerbaijani Press Council, spoke about the quality criteria of the modern teachers. Sona Aliyeva, Member of Parliament, talked about the educational strategy implemented by the Azerbaijani government. Moreover, Ramiz Asgar, Head of the Department of Turkish Studies at Baku State University, and Honored Journalist Azer Hasret, Member of Broadcasting Council of Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, emphasized the importance of the seminar and highlighted the need for such events to improve the quality of education.
Then speakers made presentations. PhD Araz Zeyniyev (USA); Stefanie Matzer (Austria); Gunay Huseynzadeh, a teacher at secondary school #193 (Azerbaijan); Chen Xiaozhen (China); Elvin Aliyev, Digital Education and IT Coordinator at Baku International Education Complex (Azerbaijan); Jeren Evjen (Turkey); Arzu Soltan, Head of the Forumclub who is involved in child rights projects at Children's Theater (Azerbaijan); Farid Suleymanov, Inclusive Education Specialist of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's Regional Development Public Union (Azerbaijan); Honored Teacher Almaz Hasret, Head of International Cooperation Department of the Institute of Education (Azerbaijan), delivered speeches on various topics related to modern teaching methods used in the world education.
