On January 24, 2017, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Azerbaijan Republic, Mr. Mohamed Adil Embarch, visited Khazar University to meet with the university administration. The ambassador was accompanied by his first secretary Mr. Anis Zaidi. The meeting was held on the university’s Neftchilar campus. Khazar University’s participants included Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, Founder, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees; President Hassan Niknafs; Prof. Mahammad Nuriyev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs; Dr. Jabir Khalilov, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences; Dr. Elza Samadli, Dean of the School of Education; Dr. Mukhtar Hajizada, Head of Department of Political Science and International Relations,   Turan Jafarova, Director of International Affairs Office.

 Mr. Mohamed Adil Embarch spoke about Morocco, relations between Azerbaijan and Morocco, similarities between the countries, their customs, traditions, and culture. Turan Jafarova gave a brief presentation about Khazar University, its history, schools and programs, ranking among other universities in and outside of Azerbaijan as well as about its internationalization strategy. Prof. Hamlet Isaxanli expressed a strong interest in close collaboration with the Embassy of Morocco and universities in Morocco. The meeting was followed by an informal lunch.
