On April 21, 2011 the Khazar Book Club was opened at the Khazar University Neftchilar Campus (on the ground floor of the new building). The club operates as a center for the sale and order of books as well as holding a variety of literature and art activities, exhibitions, meetings, and public debates.
Three mini-clubs have been created in the Book Club:
1. Reading club has 34 members. Every day at 12:00 PM, members of the club participate in reading and discussing literary works.
2. Cinema club has 46 members. Members participate in viewing and discussion of art and documentary films having important psychological or social messages. Movies are watched in English, Russian and Turkish at 15:00 PM. Students watch and discuss movies Tuesdays in Russian, Wednesdays in English, and Thursdays in Turkish.
3. Chess club has 13 members. Chess players participate in this club which meets every Monday at 16:00.
On the last week of every month, presentations of new books from contemporary writers and book-signings are held in the Book Club. In addition, art exhibitions once every two weeks have been planned beginning in January to display new works of young artists.
The Book Club operates from 9:00 to 18:00 every day.
