As a multi-disciplinary department, the Department of Biological Sciences offers courses on Medical Biology, Microbiology, Parasitology, Virology, Human Genetics, Immunology, and Hematology for the students of the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Public Health, as well as numerous other courses in various fields of Biological Sciences, such as Introduction to Life Science, Ecology and Exobiology, Environmental Biology, Evolution of Life, Genetic Engineering, Biology Education, Biotechnology, etc. These courses are also available for students of other schools of University as electives for General Education Requirements.

At present, the fundamental mission of the Department is to provide students majoring in Chemistry and Biology Education with a strong educational background and to offer them wide research opportunities.
