Nigar I. Bagirova became Dean of the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Public Health of Khazar University in 1998.
Her research interest covers various biomedical aspects of AIDS and AIDS-associated diseases"

She successfully combines administrative activities with lecturing for students, which wish to obtain a modern understanding of different areas of Biomedicine and Medicine. The main lecturing subjects are Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics and Medical Biology.

Nigar I. Bagirova are PhD of biological sciences. Dissertation defense at the Institute of General and Communal Hygiene of the Academy of Medical Sciences, Moscow, Russia
Since 2001 she is a full member of International Society for Environmental Epidemiology

During last 6 years d-r Bagirova is a member of Council of Medical Experts of Open Society Institute- the Soros Foundation.
