By the invitation of UNDP, Khazar University’s President Prof. Hamlet Isaxanli participated at the UNDP Global Congress on “ Capacity Building. Let the Evidence Speak” held on November 27-28, 2006 in the capital of Spain – Madrid. The main goal of the congress was to discuss strategies that are underway to support local and national processes for capacity development. Government and non-government representatives, experts and representatives of regional institutes, members of the international development community and UN partners took part at the congress. Representatives of Azerbaijan, Arab countries, India and UNESCO officials held discussions at the “Knowledge and Education” Panel. Prof. Hamlet Isaxanli analyzed the existing situation and challenges in the field of education in developing countries, including Azerbaijan and elucidated on the perspectives.
