Education Week was organized within International Petroleum Technology Conference, IPTC, on 2-7 December 2007 to provide a clear insight of the Oil & Gas industry, its skilled people and emerging technologies along with opportunity to make new friends and extend network for the students of different relevant disciplines. IPTC committee sent email to Khazar University Petroleum Engineering department in June 2007 and asked to give candidacy of four best students to participate in this outstanding event. Two students out of these four, Muhammad Salman (Pakistan) and Naila Balashova (Azerbaiajn) from Petroleum Engineering department got selected by IPTC selection committee. In total 70 students were selected from 22 countries and 47 institutions across the Eastern Hemisphere to attend Education Week in Dubai.  All students were organized into teams of 7-8 people and were assigned to the one of the following topics:
• Health, Safety and Environment
• Employers of Choice
• Forming Partnerships with Multiple Industries
• Energy Security and Economics: Case Study Project
• Alternative Energies
• Learning and Career Development
• Energy Challenges
• Technology
On the last day of the Week groups gave presentation on their respective assignments. Beside this students were busy in attending exhibitions, technical sessions, field trips and networking with young professionals.
Next year, 2008, Malaysia will host this international event in December.
