An
international conference on the topic “The Women and Social
Sphere” was held in the Conference centre of Khazar
University with the organization of SEPHIS (The South
Exchange Program according to the Development History
Researches), Khazar University, Open Society Institute –
Support Fund. Twenty-two representatives of seventeen
countries (South Africa, India, Peru, Brazil, Ukraine,
Uzbekistan, Zimbabwe, Holland, Nigeria, Bolivia, Jamaica,
Mongolia, Turkey, Philippines) participated in the
conference. The purpose was to highlight the diversities and
similarities of the various civilizations and cultures on a
global scale and make their analyses. The distinguishing
feature of this conference was the discovery of the
similarities between the problems of the southern countries
on the globe.
Taking into
account the interest in Azerbaijan history, an excursion was
arranged to the historical places Gobustan, Shirvanshahs
palace, the Fire-temple and other places of interest in the
capital after the session. The next day, the delegates
together with the distinguished representatives of
Azerbaijan Art participated in an amusing program glorifying
national musical culture and art. On the third day of the
Conference a forum concerning the role of Azerbaijan women
in society was held in the house museum of Cafar Cabbarli.
