Firangiz Nasirova

Firangiz Nasirova is a head instructor at the English Language and Literature Department. She has been working at Khazar since 2001. In 1994 she was a visiting professor at the Graduate School of Education and Information Science at UCLA, CA. In 1996 she visited the United States as a Joint Educational Researcher. She has taught a variety of courses in methodology of teaching English, practical translation, and literature: Shakespeare Then and Now, Azerbaijan Literature in English (for foreign students), English Through Movies, Active Reading Strategies for Beginners, Listening Practice, and Phonetics. Firangiz Nasirova delivered training courses on the rights of women based on “Claiming Our Rights: A Manual for Women’s Human Rights Education in Muslim Societies” publication by The Sisterhood Is Global Institute (SIGI), Washington, DC.

Kamala Askerova

Kamala Askerova graduated from Azerbaijan State Institute of Languages in 1983. In 1993, she started her career of an English instructor, and in 1995, a senior instructor at the Department of English Language and Literature at Khazar University, where she taught such courses as ESL, ESP for Medicine, ESP for Law, advanced Grammar, and Current events. From 1994 to 1997 she taught Extension English Courses for Medical Doctors at Khazar University. Since 2014 she has been working as Foundations Coordinator at Khazar University.

Jamala Mammadova

Jamala Mammadova is a full-time instructor at the English Language and Literature Department. She teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate level English Language courses, such as ESL (Advanced), Introduction to Linguistics, and others as part of the baccalaureate program, while offering courses in Research Design, Academic Writing, and Second Language Acquisition (SLA) to Master's students. Jamala Mammadova is an author of several academic articles.

Naila Gasimova

Naila Qasimova is an alumna of Azerbaijan University of Languages. She is currently teaching a number of courses at Khazar University English Language and Literature Department with a focus on British and American literature.

Lala Gamidova

Lala Gamidova, MA in Linguistics, earned her degree at the Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University, Institute of Humanities, Linguistics and Cross-Cultural Communication Department. She is a full-time instructor at the English Language and Literature Department. Lala Gamidova teaches a variety of courses for BA and MA level students. Lala Gamidova’s major research interests embrace Applied Linguistics and Discourse Analysis which is the main focus of her PhD thesis “The Formation of Discourse Ability in Linguistic Personality in Triglossia Environment.”

Zamira Gurbanova

Zamira Gurbanova is a full- time instructor at the English Language and Literature Department. She has been working at Khazar University since 2011. Zamira Gurbanova did her Bachelor's degree in Translation at Azerbaijan University of Languages, and she earned her MA degree in Translation at Qafqaz University. She is offering several courses in Translation including Written Translation, Legal and Court Translation, Translation of Scientific and Technical Materials, Economic Translation, Social-Political Translation, Terminology and Documentation, Consecutive Interpreting and Note-Taking, Oral Translation, Sight Translation, etc. Zamira Gurbanova has also been working as an assistant editor at Dictionary and Encyclopedia Centre since 2012. She is currently a PhD student at Khazar University.

Saadat Farhadova

Saadat Farhadova, M.A. in Linguistics, earned her degree at Azerbaijan University of Languages with an Honors Diploma. She worked as an interpreter and translator at Oklahoma LTD, taught Business English, EFL to international staff, and held English conversation clubs for non-native speakers in a business environment. Since 2007, she has been an English Language Instructor at the English Language and Literature Department of Khazar University. From 2011 to 2015, Saadat Farhadova also worked as Local Coordinator for English Programmes at the School of Economics and Management while operating as a Committee member for Assessment of Departmental Effectiveness at the English Language and Literature Department. Her main subjects of instruction have been English Foundations, Academic English, English for Professional Communication, ALS, and ESP for Economics students.

Jala Huseynova

Jala Huseynova is a full-time teacher at the English Language and Literature Department. She has been teaching at Khazar University since 2009. She got her MA degree from Azerbaijan University of Languages. Among the courses she teaches are English Foundations, English for Professional Communication, Grammar (Pre-Advanced), ESL (Pre-Advanced), and Academic English.

Irina Orucova

Irina Orucova is a part-time teacher at the English Language and Literature Department. She is offering several courses in Linguistics and Translation. She is the author of many scientific articles related to Stylistics and Syntax of the English Language.

Elmira Aliyeva

Elmira Aliyeva received her B.A. at Azerbaijan State University of Languages in 1976. She got her Doctorate degree (PhD) in July 2017, with a thesis on “Thematic Progression and Formation of Discourse”. Elmira Aliyeva is the author of over 20 articles. She has been working as an English Instructor since her graduation from the University and has enjoyed a wealth of professional experience both in this country and abroad. At present she is teaching Methods of Foreign Language Teaching at Azerbaijan State University of Languages as well as Foundations and Translation courses at Khazar University. She has participated in various international and domestic conferences and is a recipient of a number of international awards for excellence in teaching English.

Konul Huseynova

Konul Huseynova earned her B.A. degree in Linguistics at Nakhchivan State University, with an Honors Diploma in 2006. She received her M.A. degree in English language and literature at Nakhchivan University, with an Honors Diploma in 2011. She started her career of an English instructor in 2006. From 2006 to 2010 She worked as an English tutor at Araz Courses and as an English instructor at school № 11, named after J. Nakhchivanski in Nakhchivan. In 2012-2013 she worked as a tutor at Khazar Training Center of Khazar University. Since 2013 she has been working as an English instructor at the English Language and Literature Department of Khazar University. She teaches Foundations 1 and Foundations 2 at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. She prepared an educational technically based journal on reading material for Foundations 1 for the students of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Since 2017, She has been systematically writing research papers about Approaches and Methods in the English language, at AUL.She has attended many international scientific conferences.

Ilham Taghiyev

In 1979, Ilham Taghiyev graduated from the English language department of Azerbaijan University of Languages with an honors diploma. His professional experience includes, among others, teaching at Western University and Lenkaran State University. Since 2012, he has been an instructor at the English Language and Literature Department of Khazar University where he teaches Grammar, Lexicology, Introduction to Linguistics, General Linguistics, and other courses. In 2017, he fulfilled all the requirements for his doctoral degree in Germanic Languages at Khazar University, and he is currently preparing for the defense of his dissertation. Ilham Taghiyev has attended international scientific conferences and courses. He is the author of several scientific articles.

Shahriyar Mammadov

Shahriyar Mammadov completed his Bachelor's degree at Khazar University in 2012. After completing the degree successfully, he was admitted to an M.A. program in English Studies and Philology at Eotvos Lorand University, based in Hungary. While studying at ELTE, he was chairman of Azerbaijani-Hungarian Youth Union. On returning to Baku, he started his career as a lecturer in Khazar and Baku State University. At the same time, he is studying for his Ph.D. degree at Khazar University.

Nahide Guliyeva

Nahide Quliyeva graduated from Azerbaijan University of Languages in 2002. The same year, she was awarded a Master’s degree. She is a part-time instructor at the English Language and Literature Department. She has been teaching English Foundations since September 2017.

Aziza Zulfugarova

Aziza Zulfugarova graduated from Azerbaijan University of Languages in 2010. The following year she entered Khazar University’s M.A. program and in 2014, she was awarded a Master’s degree. Since 2012, she has taught English Foundations at the Department of English Language and Literature at Khazar University.

Mahira Guliyeva

In 2014, Mahira Guliyeva graduated from Azerbaijan University of Languages with an honors diploma. In 2017, she graduated from the above university with an honors diploma in English Language and Linguistics. She has been teaching English Foundations at Khazar University since September 2017.

Sevinj Iskandarova

In 2013, Sevinj Iskandarova received her B.A. degree with honors in Translation and Interpreting from Baku Slavic University. In 2016, she earned her MA degree in English Literature at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul, South Korea. Her work experience includes English-Azerbaijani-Korean translation and interpreting jobs in her student years and during an internship at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Korea as well as teaching at Jungsan High School of South Korea for two separate semesters. Since 2016, she has been an instructor at the English Language and Literature Department of Khazar University.

Adela Abdullayeva

Adela Abdullayeva received her Bachelor's degree in Philology in 2003. In 2006, she earned her Master's degree in Linguistics at Azerbaijan University of Languages. Her career path took her from a researcher position at Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences to a brief experience as a deputy of Dean at Khazar University School of Education to her current teaching position with Khazar University where she has taught a number of courses, such as Reading and Writing (levels 1 and 2), Foundations 1 and Foundations 2, ESP Computer, and ESP Mechanical Engineering to the students of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. She is a doctoral candidate and is working on her dissertation ”Orhan Pamuk in English Speaking Literature.”.

Leyla Rahimova

Leyla Rahimova received her Bachelor's degree in Law and a second baccalaureate degree in International Law, both with high honors, from Khazar University and her third baccalaureate degree in English Philology with an honors diploma from Azerbaijan University of Languages. In 2011-2014, she did her Master's at Khazar University. where she defended her Master's thesis on "Comparative Analysis of Adverbs and Adjectives (Linguistic Trends)" under the supervision of Eldar Shahgaldiyev, Ph.D., and obtained a Master's degree in English Language and Literature with an honors diploma. Since 2012, she has been with Khazar University teaching English Foundations and Academic English.

Aytan Mammadova

Aytan Mammadova completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Azerbaijan University of Languages with an honors diploma. Between 2014-2016, she taught Speech Practice at AUL and worked at Baku Slavic University in SABAH Groups. She has been working at Khazar University since 2012, teaching Academic English and English Foundations. She also works at AUL as an English Instructor in Methodology, Curriculum and Speech Practice.

Zulfiyye Ibrahimova

Zulfiya Ibrahimova is a Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University graduate. In 1989 she got her 5 year University Degree in English Language Teaching. She has 14 years of teaching experience. While working at school, she's been chosen an exchange teacher for Joint project work to Sandalwood High, Florida, USA. She has had a remarkable experience in diplomatic environment. Since 2016 she has been an instructor at the English Language and Literature Department of Khazar University. She taught a number of subjects, English Foundations 2, Legal Translation, Medical Translation, English Grammar pre-advanced, Social- Political Translation, Documentation and Terminology, Academic English and English for Current Events.

Husniyye Tanriverdiyeva

Husniyye Tanriverdiyeva graduated from the English Language Department of Azerbaijan University of Languages with an honors diploma in 2009. After teaching at School-lyceum complex under Baku Slavic University and Baku Slavic University, she became an instructor at the English Language and Literature Department of Khazar University in 2017, teaching English Foundations 1. Same year, she completed her doctoral study in Comparative and Typological Linguistics at Baku Slavic University, and she is preparing for the defense of her dissertation.

Khanim Ahmadova

Khanim Ahmadova graduated from Azerbaijan University of Languages in 2010. She earned her Master’s degree in English Linguistics and Literature at Qafqaz University with an honours diploma. Since 2012, she has been an English Language Instructor at the English Language and Literature Department of Khazar University teaching English Foundations for Education and Humanities students. Khanim Ahmadova earned her Ph.D. degree in Germanic Languages from Khazar University in 2015. She has published a number of articles in various journals in Azerbaijan and abroad and attended several international scientific conferences.

Nubar Agalarova

Nubar Agalarova, received her B.A. in English Language and Literature from Azerbaijan University of Languages. In 2008, she received an M.A. degree with honors in English language and Literature at Qafqaz University, where she had worked as a translator (English-Azerbaijani or Azerbaijani-English) at "Dushunga" Translation Centre and as an English instructor during her student years. Nubar Agalarova's teaching experience at Azerbaijan High Military School and Kaspi Educational Center brought her to the English Language and Literature Department of Khazar University in 2012 where she has worked ever since.

Parvana Babayeva

Parvana Babayeva received her B.A.(with Honors Diploma) and M.A.(with Honors Diploma) at Azerbaijan State University of Languages.She is a part-time instructor at the English Language and Literature Department. She has been teaching English Foundations at Khazar University since November 2017. 








Lala Aliyeva

Lala Aliyeva graduated from Azerbaijan University of Languages in 2007. She earned her Master’s degree in “European countries and Languages” from Azerbaijan International University in 2010. She is a CELTA qualified instructor certified by Cambridge University. She worked as a Chief Manager at AC Nielsen LLC (Marketing and Audit Company) in 2007-2008 and as an interpreter at UAFA in 2009-2010. Lala Aliyeva started her teaching career at Lingva School in 2009 functioning as an instructor on IELTS, TOEFL, IGCSE, and SAT, GMAT, GRE programs (verbal section). Currently, Lala Aliyeva is a part time instructor on “Academic Language Skills”, “ESP Social” and “Academic Writing Skills” at Khazar University, and coordinates international English language related programs in Caspian-Khazri, an international private institution. 




Parvin Karimova

Parvin Karimova is a full-time teacher at The English Language and Literature Department. She earned her B.A. and M.A. degree at Khazar University with honor diplomas. From 2008 to 2009 she worked as dean’s assistant at School of Humanities and Social Sciences. In 2012-2013 she worked as a tutor at Khazar Training Center of Khazar University. Since 2009 she has been teaching English Foundations 1 and Foundations 2, English Grammar pre-advanced. Parvin Karimova earned her Ph.D degree in 2013. She attended several scientific conferences.

Gulnur Nabiyeva

Gulnur Nabiyeva is a full-time instructor at the English Language and Literature Department, Khazar University. She has been teaching at Khazar University since 2011. Gulnur Nabiyeva did her Bachelor's and MA degree in Translation at MaGU, Russia. She is offering several minor and major courses: Functions and Structures of Grammar (pre-advanced and advanced), Translation courses (Economic Translation and Translation of Oil and Gas Materials), Psycholinguistics (for Master's degree students), etc. She is currently a PhD student at Khazar University. Gulnur Nabiyeva’s major research interests cover Sociolinguistics and Psycholinguistics. The main focus of her PhD thesis is “Language variation and textual categorization.”

Nigar Mammadova

Nigar Mammadova is an instructor at the English Language and Literature Department, Khazar University. She holds M.A degree with Honors from Baku Slavic University. Nigar earned her B.A at Azerbaijan University of Languages. 

Nigar has been in a teaching and education management sector for more than five years. Her research areas include technology in education, early language acquisition, and the role of governance in education policies.  She is also an independent consultant for education management."
