Firangiz Nasirova is a head instructor at the English Language and Literature Department. She has been working at Khazar since 2001. In 1994 she was a visiting professor at the Graduate School of Education and Information Science at UCLA, CA. In 1996 she visited the United States as a Joint Educational Researcher. She has taught a variety of courses in methodology of teaching English, practical translation, and literature: Shakespeare Then and Now, Azerbaijan Literature in English (for foreign students), English Through Movies, Active Reading Strategies for Beginners, Listening Practice, and Phonetics. Firangiz Nasirova delivered training courses on the rights of women based on “Claiming Our Rights: A Manual for Women’s Human Rights Education in Muslim Societies” publication by The Sisterhood Is Global Institute (SIGI), Washington, DC.
Kamala Askerova graduated from Azerbaijan State
Institute of Languages in 1983. She
started her career of an English instructor in 1993 at the Department of
English Language and Literature at
Jamala Mammadova is a full-time instructor at the English Language and Literature Department. She teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate level English Language courses, such as ESL (Advanced), Introduction to Linguistics, and others as part of the baccalaureate program, while to Master’s students, she offers courses in Research Design, Academic Writing, and Second Language Acquisition (SLA). Jamala Mammadova is an author of several academic articles.
Naila Qasimova is an alumna of Azerbaijan University of Languages. She is currently teaching a number of courses
at Khazar University English Language and Literature Department with a focus on
British and American literature.
Lala Gamidova, M.A. in Linguistics, earned her degree at the Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University, Institute of Humanities, Linguistics and Cross-Cultural Communication Department. She is a full-time instructor at the English Language and Literature Department. Lala Gamidova teaches a variety of courses for B.A. and M.A. level students. Lala Gamidova’s major research interests embrace Applied Linguistics and Discourse Analysis which is the main focus of her Ph.D. thesis “The Formation of Discourse Ability in Linguistic Personality in Triglossia Environment.”
Zamira Gurbanova is a full- time instructor at the English Language and Literature Department. She has been working at Khazar University since 2011. Zamira Gurbanova did her Bachelor's degree in Translation at Azerbaijan University of Languages, and she earned her M.A. degree in Translation at Qafqaz University. She is offering several courses in Translation including Written Translation, Legal and Court Translation, Translation of Scientific and Technical Materials, Economic Translation, Social-Political Translation, Terminology and Documentation, Consecutive Interpreting and Note-Taking, Oral Translation, Sight Translation, etc. Zamira Gurbanova has also been working as an assistant editor at Dictionary and Encyclopedia Centre since 2012. She is currently a Ph.D. student at Khazar University.
Saadat Farhadova, M.A. in Linguistics, earned her degree at Azerbaijan University of Languages with an Honours Diploma. She worked as an interpreter and translator at Oklahoma LTD, taught Business English, EFL to international staff, and held English conversation clubs for non-native speakers at TCS company. Since 2007, she has been an English Language Instructor at the English Language and Literature Department of Khazar University. The main subjects of her instruction have been English Foundations, Academic English, English for Professional Communication, ALS, ESP for Economics students. From 2011 to 2015, Saadat Farhadova worked as Local Coordinator for English Programmes at the School of Economics and Management while operating as a Committee member for Assessment of Departmental Effectiveness at the English Language and Literature Department.
Jala Huseynova is a full-time teacher at the English Language and Literature Department. She has been teaching at Khazar University since 2009. She got her M.A. degree from Azerbaijan University of Languages. Among the courses she teaches are English Foundations, English for Professional Communication, Grammar (Pre-Advanced), ESL (Pre-Advanced), and Academic English.
Irina Orucova is a part-time teacher at the English Language and Literature Department. She is offering several courses in Linguistics and Translation. She is the author of many scientific articles related to Stylistics and Syntax of the English Language.
Konul Huseynova is an English Language instructor at the English Language and Literature Department. She has been teaching at Khazar University since 2012 where she is an instructor at the University Training Center. Among the variety of courses she teaches, courses in English Foundations are the main focus of her effort.
In 1979, Ilham Taghiyev graduated from the English language department of Azerbaijan University of Languages with an honors diploma. His professional experience includes, among others, teaching at Western University and Lenkaran State University. Since 2012, he has been an instructor at the English Language and Literature Department of Khazar University where he teaches Grammar, Lexicology, Introduction to Linguistics, General Linguistics, and other courses. In 2017, he fulfilled all the requirements for his doctoral degree in Germanic Languages at Khazar University, and he is currently preparing for the defense of his dissertation. Ilham Taghiyev has attended international scientific conferences and courses. He is the author of several scientific articles.
Shahriyar Mammadov completed his Bachelor's degree at Khazar University in 2012. After completing the degree successfully, he was admitted to an M.A. program in English Studies and Philology at Eotvos Lorand University, based in Hungary. While studying at ELTE, he was chairman of Azerbaijani-Hungarian Youth Union. On returning to Baku, he started his career as a lecturer in Khazar and Baku State University. At the same time, he is studying for his Ph.D. degree at Khazar University
Nahide Quliyeva graduated from Azerbaijan University of Languages in 2002. The same year, she was awarded a Master’s degree. She is a part-time instructor at the English Language and Literature Department. She has been teaching English Foundations since September 2017.
Aziza Zulfugarova graduated from Azerbaijan University of Languages in 2010. The following year she entered Khazar University’s M.A. program and in 2014, she was awarded a Master’s degree. Since 2012, she has taught English Foundations at the Department of English Language and Literature at Khazar University.
In 2014, Mahira Guliyeva graduated from Azerbaijan University of Languages with an honors diploma. In 2017, she graduated from the above university with an honors diploma in English Language and Linguistics. She has been teaching English Foundations at Khazar University since September 2017.
In 2013, Sevinj Iskandarova received her B.A. degree with honors in Translation and Interpreting from Baku Slavic University. In 2016, she earned her M.A. degree in English Literature at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul, South Korea. Her work experience includes English-Azerbaijani-Korean translation and interpreting jobs in her student years and during an internship at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Korea as well as teaching at Jungsan High School of South Korea for two separate semesters. Since 2016, she has been an instructor at the English Language and Literature Department of Khazar University.
Adela Abdullayeva received her Bachelor's degree in Philology in 2003. In 2006, she earned her Master's degree in Linguistics at Azerbaijan University of Languages. Her career path took her from a researcher position at Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences to a brief experience as a deputy of Dean at Khazar University School of Education to her current teaching position with Khazar University where she has taught a number of courses, such as Reading and Writing (levels 1 and 2), Foundations 1 and Foundations 2, ESP Computer and ESP Mechanical Engineering to the students of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. She is a doctoral candidate and is working on her dissertation ”Orhan Pamuk in English Speaking Literature.”.
Leyla Rahimova received her Bachelor's degree in Law and a second baccalaureate degree in International Law, both with high honors, from Khazar University and her third baccalaureate degree in English Philoilogy with an honors diploma from Azerbaijan University of Languages. In 2011- 2014, she did her Master's at Khazar University. where she defended her Master's thesis in "Comparative Analysis of Adverbs and Aadjectives (Linguistic Ttrends)" under the supervision of Eldar Shahgaldiyev, Ph.D., and obtained a Master's degree in English Language and Literature with an honors diploma. Since 2012, she has been with Khazar University teaching English Foundations and Academic English.
Aytan Mammadova completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Azerbaijan University of Languages with an honors diploma. Between 2014-2016, she taught Speech Practice at AUL and worked at Baku Slavic University in SABAH Groups. She has been working at Khazar University since 2012, teaching Academic English and English Foundations. She also works at AUL as an English Instructor in Methodology, Curriculum and Speech Practice.
Husniyye Tanriverdiyeva graduated from the English Language Department of Azerbaijan University of Languages with an honors diploma in 2009. After teaching at School-lyceum complex under Baku Slavic University and Baku Slavic University, she became an instructor at the English Language and Literature Department of Khazar University in 2017, teaching English Foundations 1. Same year, she completed her doctoral study in Comparative and Typological Linguistics at Baku Slavic University, and she is preparing for the defense of her dissertation.
Khanim Ahmadova graduated from Azerbaijan University of Languages in 2010. She earned her Master’s degree in English Linguistics and Literature at Qafqaz University with an honours diploma. Since 2012, she has been an English Language Instructor at the English Language and Literature Department of Khazar University teaching English Foundations for Education and Humanities students. Khanim Ahmadova earned her Ph.D. degree in Germanic Languages from Khazar University in 2015. She has published a number of articles in various journals in Azerbaijan and abroad and attended several international scientific conferences.
Nubar Agalarova, received her B.A. in English Language and Literature from Azerbaijan University of Languages. In 2008, she received an M.A. degree with honors in English language and Literature at Qafqaz University, where she had worked as a translator (English-Azerbaijani or Azerbaijani-English) at "Dushunga" Translation Centre and as an English instructor during her student years. Nubar Agalarova's teaching experience at Azerbaijan High Military School and Kaspi Educational Center brought her to the English Language and Literature Department of Khazar University in 2012 where she has worked ever since.
