  • 29.01.2016: Eurasian Academy Opening and Eurasian Legend Award Ceremony - Photos Eurasian Academy Opening and Eurasian Legend Award Ceremony The history of Eurasian Academy: In 2012, a group of intellectuals, scholars and artists began discussing the formation of a new regional and international Academy. They decided on the Academy’s founders; basic principles; the idea of awards to be given to elected members; medals to be given for outstanding contributions in science, technology and arts; the name of the Academy and other issues. The five founding members of the Academy are citizens of Azerbaijan, Turkey and the USA: Professor Halil Inalcik, Professor Lotfi Zadeh, Professor Mahmut Gazi Yasargil, Composer Arif Melikov, and Professor Hamlet Isaxanli. They decided that Eurasian Academy will be headquartered in Azerbaijan. On September 28, 2012, Eurasian Academy was registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Azerbaijan Republic. The Academy designed the “Eurasian Legend” which would be awarded to its members, as well as its 5 medals (named for Ibn Sina, Nasiraddin Tusi, Ibn Khaldun, M.F. Axundzadeh və U. Hajibeyli)....
